I trained as a medical doctor in Paris and as a naturopathic physician in Arizona, and I've spent more than 25 years working at the point where those two trainings meet.

That path took me through hospital medicine in France and Switzerland, integrative practice in Beverly Hills, and residential care at the Kusnacht Practice, before I opened my current practice at Hooke in London. The through-line was never a particular specialty. It was a particular kind of patient: the one whose results keep coming back unremarkable while they continue to feel unwell.
MTHFR and methylation genetics became a focus over time, not because they explain everything, but because they are one of the most consistently overlooked pieces of the puzzle. Methylation sits underneath energy production, neurotransmitter balance, detoxification and DNA repair. When it is running badly, the symptoms surface in several systems at once, which is precisely why single-specialty investigation tends to miss it.
It is also a field that attracts overstatement. A variant is not a diagnosis, a gene panel is not a treatment plan, and the professional bodies are right to be sceptical of clinicians who blur that line. My work sits deliberately on the evidence-led side of it: test, measure, treat to a marker, and say plainly where the science is still emerging.
I use conventional diagnostics where they are the right tool, and bring in functional and genomic testing where conventional testing runs out of answers.
